Janice has been in healthcare for over 24 years. She has held positions from the bottom to the top and everywhere in between. If there is one thing she knows, it’s how to navigate our healthcare system and how to advocate for her patients. She has 100% taken on the ‘life long learning’ aspect of the medical field. She is accomplished in healthcare administration as well as clinical leadership and teaching.
Never the less, she knows that her patients priorities are her priorities, and that every situation is different. Her passion is helping people find the best life they can live and empowering them to live it.

First off, let me say that I do not give 5 start reviews. This is actually the first time I have. My Primary Care physician is retiring and after 20 years with her I was suddenly looking for a new doctor. As I have a very complicated history and need a doctor that has the requisite knowledge to treat me, the search has been fraught with difficulties. Today I met with Janice Winfrey and was very pleasantly surprised. She is very personable, easy to talk with, knowledgeable and willing to listen.
About us
We decided to open Ascend Primary Care because we feel that good healthcare is hard to find these days. We think that it would be really nice to be able to make an appointment with your physician when you need it, and not be pushed off to another provider because they are busy. To have a provider who actually knows you and cares about you and your family. To know that your primary care provider is personally invested in you.
We remember when we had a local family physician, in a small office where there was plenty of parking and the waiting room had maybe one other person. Now, the only options we have are large corporations who limit the time that can be spent with patients, and the type of care that be provided. What they don’t limit is their patient load, which causes wait times for appointments to be anywhere from one to five months!
Our mission is to bring back the old days of personalized care. We know that most independent practices have disappeared because they were bought out or over run by large corporations, and we know it will take hard work to be a force in our community. Yet, we feel it is more important to do our best to provide the kind of healthcare that we would want for our family, than to not try.
Our healthcare system is difficult to navigate, and harder still when you or your loved one is ill. Let us be your fierce advocate for better care and better health.

Out of network insurance
We can charge any insurance company as long as your plan includes “out of network” coverage. You may be responsible for a portion of the visit cost, co-pay, or co-insurance.
Self-Pay
Self-pay patients receive 40% off of the total visit cost. This does not include the cost of any medication administered, aesthetic treatments, or procedures during your appointment.
Alternate pricing and payment options are available on an individual basis and are based on financial hardship.
